About Lillian F. Anderton
As a little girl growing up in the historic district in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Lillian dreamed of becoming an architect, but decided on a career in marketing communications instead. She graduated from the University of Alabama and moved to Birmingham, AL to work as a copywriter and editor for Southern Living magazine and its sister publications. Later, Lillian moved to the Washington D.C. area where, among other things, she wrote real estate marketing newsletters for agents all over the country. It was then Lillian realized that instead of writing about buying and selling homes, she actually wanted to actively help buyers and sellers find their perfect place to call home! She obtained her Virginia real estate license and worked with one of the top producers in the area--a trusted mentor and friend to this day! One of her earliest (and nicest) compliments came from a young family who sent Lillian a Christmas letter several months after she helped them find their first home:
"Hello, Lillian! You may not remember us. You helped us find a home last March/April, and we wanted to tell you what a positive impact you made on us. We really appreciate how you went totally out of your way to help us! You were amazing and we want you to know that. Thank you! We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with much love, peace, happiness, and health. May all your dreams be fulfilled, and may God give you great success in everything you do!"
Lillian has kept their letter to this day as a reminder of how little it takes to make a BIG impact on someone's life. She believes real estate is a relationship business, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to help people as they navigate one of life’s biggest decisions—buying and/or selling a home.
Lillian moved back to Tuscaloosa 10 years ago with her two children, two dogs, and five cats. She’s okay being referred to as a “crazy cat lady,” though she loves all animals, and has recently joined the board of directors for the Humane Society of West Alabama (HSWA). In her spare time, Lillian enjoys volunteering with HSWA, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and of course, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
